YouTube has release a new feature called YouTube shorts, which was referred as the rival of TikTok. The feature was released first in India and later spreading worldwide. Currently, shorts only available on Android devices.

But, what are this YouTube shorts you probably asked? How did they affect our channel? So, let me explain to you

YouTube Shorts are vertical videos up to 60 seconds in length. In addition to showing on your channel, viewers may find your short-form video on the homepage Shorts shelf and tap into a vertical viewing experience made for short videos.

YouTube shorts are some kind of short video up to 60 seconds, it can be accessed from the “upload new video” button, then you can record anything you want. Whether it’s a speech or random things you do.

If you create shorts by the “Create a short”, your shorts duration only lasts for maximum 15 seconds.

But, if you asked questions like, can i make video of my edit and upload it as a shorts? Or can i upload shorts without using the “shorts” button? The answer is yes. It’s simple. Just add #shorts in your video desc or title. It’s up to you.

Now for the answer of “How did they affect my channel?”

It’s not a rare case that shorts can give up to 10k views in few days. I’m a frequent shorts uploader, the first shorts i uploaded was If i found any of the thumbnail of my bitlife video, the video ends, which was uploaded on December 9 2020.

I didn’t know shorts that time, three days later (December 12 2020), i woke up to found out that the video has reached 1k views, i was shocked because i never got that much views before. and i found out that around 80% of the viewers find my video by shorts. And it confused me because i don’t know what is it. Also, i get many new subscribers from the shorts.

I did a research only to learn that shorts can gives us many real views, also likes and subscribers, and I started to upload many shorts since then

So, what’s the conclusion? The conclusion is a youtube short is pretty useful for a small channel to grow their channel, but you have to remember that not all shorts gave you a thousands views, in some cases, they only give you 200 – 500 views, Like some of mine.
